Wah..keteteran nih pikir saya..
Kok bisa kehabisan 'darah'? Ternyata ada penggemar berat yg menggunakan bandwidth secara antusias.
Tapi sy yakin Om Darwin dan Om Rodji cepat tanggap membenahinya sehingga sy masih tetap jadi Lurah (he..hee..hee..) bukan kembali ke Warga lagi.
Saya pikir saya aja yg nggak bisa akses. Setelah konfirmasi dengan OmSatria dan Om Yudha via YM ternyata mereka mendapatkan sama yang saya alami.
Saya merasa kehilangan dan serasa hampa waktu sempat off, karena Gaero sumber inspirasi, pengetahuan, dan keterampilan utama saya sebagai seorang newbie aero. Selain itu Gaero merupakan bahan rujukan sebelum terbang, setelah terbang, dan blog saya.

Bandwidth Stealing
Information (files) loaded to or from servers is called bandwidth. Every time you upload a file to your ISP, surf the web or download a video, you are using bandwidth.

Bandwidth is limited. Why? Because it actually is a bunch of wires or fibers connecting servers to the global network. And wires can only carry so much data. When someone attempts to get more data than can be handled by the wire, the transmission of the data is slowed down.

Some ISPs limit the amount of data that a site can use during a particular time period. As an example, an ISP might limit you to 1gb of data per month for your flat fee, then charge you an extra $10 for each additional gigabyte. Some of the more obnoxious ISPs actually just block transmissions when the bandwidth is exceeded (effectively putting that site out of business for a time).

It's common practice to load most of the images, sound files, videos and documents in your web on your own site. This excludes, of course, advertising banners which are rotated and some specific documents and images which are supposed to be loaded from a central location.

It's common among amateurs and beginners to link to images and other files directly to some other server instead of putting them on their local server. Sometimes they just don't know better, sometimes they are just lazy, and sometimes they've just run out of space at their free host.

So not only do they "steal" the image (it is probably copyrighted and they are copying it without permission each time the web site is loaded) they "steal" the bandwidth!!

This is extraordinarily bad form, it's tasteless and it should be avoided like the plague.

In some extreme cases, unscrupulous "webmasters" (I use the term loosely) link to large zip files on other servers to give their own visitors extra features. This often occurs with sites containing downloadable software, wallpaper and desktop themes.

DO NOT do this without permission! If you do, you are a thief and you are costing someone else money and aggravation.

What do you do if someone links to your images or files without your permission and he will not stop? Replace the file with something else. A picture or document stating that this person is stealing bandwidth should suffice. If you can get the email address or phone number of the person, you might include it for additional impact.

Nah setelah dicek pake google dengan key word "gaero.info" ternyata sangat banyak "LINK" thread kesini, gpp karena bukan "HOTLINGKING", seperti link ke langsung image (karena kita juga pake server luar), sound juga gak ada, file zip juga gak ada.

LINK tetap memakan bandwith, tapi tidak sebanyak HOTLINGKING,...sepertinya tanpa ada LINK ya gak perlu ada web,...he3x

Why isn't linking to a web page considered bandwidth stealing? Because the page is the one thing that you are supposed to link to on a web site. This gives the web site owner and host exactly what they are trying to achieve - exposure of their particular message. You are more or less free to link to any HTML-type page that you want to because that's what the web is intended to be. A vast number of pages all linked together in many different ways.

Some people and web site owners have questioned the validity of linking to any page within their site. They claim that you must link to their home page, or in one particularly obnoxious case, actually charge a $50 fee for linking to one of their pages! My belief is if these people don't want others to link to their pages they should get off the web. The entire structure of the internet is intended to be the free interchange of information at a page level. Don't like it? Use a different media or format (Adobe PDF files, for example).

The point of all this? To avoid this internet sin, simply load the image, zip file, sound, video or whatever on your own website. The bandwidth on your site is yours to do with as you please. And oh yes, link to any web page that you want. That's the way of the web.

Kemudian yang bisa dijadiin kambing hitam adalah referer dan ini mungkin dari ISP lokal -,... dari user tersebut (jadi kesalahan ini gak disadarinya). Mungkin bisa dicoba ini;

I just noticed an immediate increase bandwidth in one of my sponsored hosting website, www.*** When I check the referer, I finds out there is one website who put my radio.blog into his website. He is feeding his visitor with my bandwidth.

So, I fire up google and search for “php how to check referer”, I found the hacks to solve it. This script will actually check for referer before it loads. Specify your own server, replace www.mysite.com. If the request was not from www.mysite.com, it will just display, “Nice try”
