[info] Tentang Kabel Servo

Post by ajo.naim »

Sebagai pemula saya bingung dengan banyak merk servo dalam dunia R/C.
setelah cari-cari dari Mbah Google ketemu di forum rcgroups.com yang membahas tentang kompatibilitas kabel servo.

Occasionally there are questions on servo compatibility between brands. Servos are designed for different torque, speed, size, weight and precision. As far as connecting the servos to the receiver, the ones currently manufactured (with small exclusions) are compatible.

Futaba uses two types of connectors - "standard" J-connector (pictured below) and a microconnector designated as G-connector which uses the same pin/wire lineup but is smaller in size.

Airtronics switched from their old proprietary connector lineup (Old Airtronics in the pictures below) to their current Z-type connector (also pictured below). They use the same plug/connector shells but different pin/wire lineup. Do not plug in old Airtronics servo connectors in "standard" receivers and vice-versa as this will damage the servo. Either extract and reinsert the pins/sockets to match the new/current connector line up or use adapter wires.

S, J, and Z Connectors

The Futaba connector is referred to as their "J" connector. The Hitec connector is sometimes referred to as their "S" connector, and Airtronics calls their newer connector the "Z" connector. Note that the Futaba "J" has a key on one side and the Hitec "S", JR, and Airtronics "Z" connectors all have two corners beveled. The "S", JR, and "Z" are essentially the same connector.

An "S", JR, or "Z" will fit into a Futaba receiver. A "J" will require a little surgery in order to fit into a Hitec, JR, or Airtronics receiver. Of course, if the receiver does not have a hard case (open pins), then all of the connectors will fit without modification. Just match signal to signal and negative to negative.
